When our founder started Eye Bray Limited his idea was to help business owners provide banks with information they wanted but were unwilling to say how it was to be done. There were lots of topics to consider but with his banking background he knew what topics would be at the top of the list.
His first action was to prove that he knew what he was talking about, so he got some qualifications he believed were crucial to start to build trust from potential customers, the second was to get out and meet people, and the third was to create his website.
By the end of 2017 all these initial actions had been completed, but he also knew that there was more to be done. The website needed blogs, like this one. Social Media accounts for the company needed to be created and fed with information and educational snippets to help people realise that they needn’t face their troubles alone.
Did everything go right first time around? Of course not. Every time something didn’t go to plan it just provided an example of how to improve and to let him know there were other places to look. For knowledge, for support and for growth.
Have we grown every year? Not financially, but that was part of the plan. It took until 2020 for the tables to start turning and we haven’t looked back from then. However, every year we have been able to draw on more and more of our directors’ experience in banking to develop the product base and become a respected specialist.
You can be a business consultant without any particular knowledge in any area of compliance. But to be a compliance consultant, you need to have an understanding of how changes in operations affect other areas of the business.
This is why he chose to change how the business was to be promoted during 2020 and has continued with that progression ever since. He knows that without the background he has he wouldn’t be able to steer the company through the difficult years to enable continual growth, in every way, since Covid affected our world.
To an extent it still does. Very few people will be able to truly understand how much something occurring for the first time affects everyday life and the business world. Until something has happened very few will criticise you, but once it has and you get caught out a second time it is a lot more likely they will.
Things happen in businesses every year and there are “horror stories” that appear online about them. How many you chose to believe is up to you, but a majority of them are true. How you choose to move forward may be up to you, but sometimes regulators (or circumstances that have led to loss of reputation) step in and force changes, some of which you may be unwilling to complete.
It is up to you as to how you deal with the changing business environment, but change you must if you are going to continue to compete, let alone survive.
There is a lot of useful information in here, but based on my previous blogs, some may consider this one is quite light on detail. Please look through the other blogs here Blog – Eye Bray Limited. The information you want may well have been provided already. Some of what I provide is very detailed.
